First, identify what you have been waiting to do or start. Have you been waiting to start your self-care practice? Waiting to get healthy? Waiting to start a savings account? Waiting to forgive yourself or someone else?
Then identify the specific reasons you have been waiting:
Maybe you are waiting because that’s what you always do. Maybe you’re waiting because you’re afraid you’ll be very successful! Maybe you’re waiting because you worry you might hit some road bumps, so it’s easier to put it off until “later.” Maybe you’re waiting for the perfect conditions, or maybe you’re waiting until you think “they” will be ok with your success.
Usually, you’re waiting for something, someone, or some circumstance to change.
Once you have identified why you’ve been waiting, then make a commitment to start what you really want to do in your life!
Try these Tapping sequences below to clear any blocks you have to getting started:
Side of the Hand: Even though I’ve been waiting to get started because I’m afraid of the consequences, I accept who I am and how I feel. Even though I always seem to be waiting, it seems safer, I accept who I am and how I feel. Even though I’m tired of waiting, I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway.
Eyebrow: I’m afraid to get started
Side of Eye: What if it works out?
Under Eye: I’m worried about the consequences
Nose: I’m afraid to get started
Chin: I always wait to get started
Collarbone: I’m not used to moving forward
Under Arm: I think I’m just afraid to get started
Head: I tend to wait because it seems safer
Repeat these follow-up phrases while you continue tapping on the points.
Eyebrow: What if I could get started now?
Side of Eye: What if I just took one step at a time?
Under Eye: I want to stop waiting
Nose: I want to get started
Chin: I want to get started sooner than later
Collarbone: I’m ready to get started
Under Arm: I appreciate why I’ve always waited
Head: I want to release my fears and get started now
It really is “time” to get started on what’s next for you.
Go ahead and start small… but get started! Waiting is overrated, even when we think it keeps us safe from being exposed.
Keep tapping!
Enjoy,
Carol
