My friend would ask her children to end their day by reviewing their “ups and downs.” She always asked them to include the “downs” which I instinctively knew was a good idea. This had the effect of neutralizing the “downs” just by naming them, which then had the effect of “normalizing” them. I was lucky to be around this family for a week one recent summer, and I enjoyed being a witness as the kids thought about what happened during their day and blurted out what they enjoyed and what they didn’t like.
I think adults should do this exercise as well. Cataloguing the “ups” or listing them is a variation of the classic gratitude list. And mentioning or noting the “downs” is just our way of coming up with our tappable issues!
So, the exercise and theory is simple enough – many of you may have used it as your children were growing up as well. So, why am I asking you as an adult to Embrace Your Ups and Downs? Because usually we try to ignore the “downs” – and this always gets us into energetic trouble! It’s a bad idea to ignore the “downs” because it puts us in the vibration of resistance. And when we’re coming from a place of resistance, our vibration is negatively influenced on every level – physically, energetically and spiritually.
I have found that thousands of people misunderstood what the teachers from “The Secret” were instructing us to do and think we’re supposed to deny or ignore the “downs” in our life. We’re most definitely not supposed to ignore our “downs” at all, but there’s no need to wallow in them. And since we have the incredible tool of tapping, we can eliminate the leftover “charge” about the negative incidents very quickly.
And when you Embrace Your Ups and Downs, you communicate a kind of acceptance for everything that went on during your day. There’s no “if only it hadn’t happened” and there’s no judgment that something was bad or wrong. You might choose to do something differently next time, but you don’t have to categorize everything as a mistake or a failure.
So this simple action step to take at the end of the day – Embrace Your Ups and Downs – will take off the pressure of trying to avoid something we’re unhappy about and allow us to just be with what unfolded during our day. When we embrace everything, we can tap on what has left a negative charge and simply move on. And this action will immediately raise your vibration and attract manifestations into your life.

Remember that the Universe hears your vibration not your words. The principles of the Law of Attraction remind us that we will receive more of what we are “broadcasting” to the Universe when we are in alignment with it. A high vibration (of joy, gratitude and appreciation) always precedes abundance showing up in your life. When the universe is able to receive a clear signal or message from you – (no energetic interference from your attitudes) then the Law of Attraction starts to work in your favor.
