Are you excited about a new business project but still feeling hesitant, resistant, or avoidant?
You may know exactly what to do next and genuinely want to complete the project. From the outside, it can look like procrastination, but something else may be holding you back.
Ask yourself: What happened last time you were successful, launched something, completed an important project, or were on the verge of success?
Maybe there was a shock, a surprise, or a painful disappointment. Something fell short. You did not see it coming, and your body still remembers how it felt.
This is what I sometimes call business PTSD. The old event may still be informing your nervous system, even though this is a new project. No wonder part of you does not want to get its hopes up or move forward.
Think of what happened last time and notice your distress. EFT Tapping can help you work first with the surprise, disappointment, fear, or shock that still feels active in your body.
Then notice the belief the event created. How true does it feel when you say, "I am convinced something bad will happen again"?
The old experience was real, but it does not have to keep interrupting your behavior now. You are not trying to erase what happened. You are helping your nervous system separate the new opportunity from the old outcome.
Your next yes can be one small step toward the project you have been holding back on. Write it down, commit to it, and tap on any anxiety that appears as you move closer.
The rewire is from "What happened last time will happen again" to "I can honor what happened, calm the old fear, and let this new project have a different outcome."
Take one small step, tap as the anxiety appears, and notice what changes when the new project no longer has to carry the weight of the old one.
