What if we made an effort to be present and
pay attention to each “now” that crosses our path…
I wonder how much abundance
would start to show up?
I am writing about this topic because I am not very good at staying in the now and knew I needed to teach myself something and remind myself of how powerful it can be to observe, witness and appreciate each now that comes up, one now at a time…
Why am I so lousy at focusing and staying in the now? Because I was taught by everyone I ever met in my entire life to:
(1) Get as much done as possible
(2) Do it quickly, and
(3) If you are able to get anything done “ahead of time” then do so!
How about you?
In addition, I am an olympian skilled athlete when it comes to multi-tasking… something “they” say is really bad for your brain and mind because you don’t get anything done well, much less completely. (In defense of some of my multi-tasking, I do get a lot done and I get it done really well, but that doesn’t mean I should continue doing it!) I think multi-tasking is exhausting and not good for my attention span, and then of course it interrupts my ability to be deeply focused in my now moments.
Anyway, back to my new commitment and intention to be present, one now at a time…
So let’s say you run your life the way I do – always doing 3 things at once, juggling work, family, social life and health, never quite slowing down long enough to recognize as many valuable nows as you wish you could. I actually have gotten much better at this, and I feel the benefits as I recognize my now moments more frequently. I am just intending for myself and inviting you to recognize even more of them…
What if you noticed how many “nows”
are in your life and just how
valuable each one is?
OK, then we’d need a plan to replace our multi-tasking behavior with an intention and behavior of focusing on each now in our lives (to the best of our ability…) I’m not asking you to change radically, that never works. But how about noticing more of those precious now moments?
Here’s what I know…
People who are able to appreciate
most of their nows – one now at a time –
attract more success and abundance!
So it’s time for the yes, but section of my newsletter to help identify what we need to clear out of our energy systems with EFT/Meridian Tapping. Here are some typical yes, buts that surface when I suggest in workshops that we all pay more attention and appreciate what shows up in our now moments.
(1) Yes, but… I’m too busy to keep focusing on my “now” moments.
Yes, being too busy will block this focus, so how about tapping on being too busy, learning how to say “no” to what doesn’t work, and making time for this meditative, rewarding behavior? “Even though I’m too busy to do what’s good for me…”
(2) Yes, but… I have to pay attention to my future or else I won’t be ready for it.
I know we were all taught this, but it’s not factually true. Paying attention to the future doesn’t make you ready or prepared, it just takes you out of your present.
(3) Yes, but… I don’t want to miss anything by being so focused on my now… I want to be able to catch everything that’s going on.
This statement is somewhat contradictory, isn’t it? If you are focused in your now, you will catch what’s going on… you won’t miss anything important, since the nows are what are important! “Even though I’m afraid I’m going to miss something…”
(4) Yes, but… I don’t see much “upside” to being in the now all the time.
Many people see more “downsides” to being in the now… But there are so many “upsides” and benefits. Again, a tappable issue…
The good news is that we can treat whichever yes, buts you have with tapping! Are you holding yourself back in your life because of any of these yes, buts or layers of resistance? If so, the yes, buts can all be formed into tappable issues with EFT/Meridian Tapping.
The question I invite you to ask yourself is:
Why are you still ignoring
or missing all the valuable
“now” moments in your life?
Sometimes it is challenging to read the above statements and uncover your blocks, so read the questions below to help you uncover what may be blocking you from being as present as possible in your now moments…
(1) What’s the “downside” to focusing on your now moments?
(2) Does it feel “unsafe” to be focused in the now?
(3) Are you more comfortable with the habit of worring or having anxiety over your past or future?
(4) Are you afraid of being present, or in the “now”?
(5) What is the “upside” of being distracted by the past or future?
These are all powerful questions that I recommend you answer as best you are able… once you know the upside of being focused on your past or future, you can make healthier changes and choices. So try and figure out,
How does staying focused on
the past or future rather than in the
present moment “serve” you?
Maybe you don’t believe that keeping this same pattern is serving you, but it must be, or else you would be committed, even inspired to change.
It’s your choice… Choose to
focus on and enjoy one now at a time, and
enjoy your vibration of abundance!
In my newsletters, I like to include the benefits I have found to what I am proposing to my readers. Below are my favorite benefits of being focused on “one now at a time…”
(1) Being focused in your now will create energetic space in your life to have more creative ideas, personally and professionally.
(2) Being focused and present in the now will raise your vibration immediately! And when your vibration is higher, you attract other things matching this high vibration… you know the cycle.
(3) Being focused and present right now will help you body feel more relaxed and rejuventaed as you will be in a more present place energetically.
(4) Being in your now will help you get clarity about your decisions and the next “yes” in all areas of your life.
As Law of Attraction teachers say — it’s all energy. So change your energy by being inspired to look for what’s good about your now. It will automatically invite the Universe to help you create more abundance right now.
Raise your vibration by choosing
to find what’s good about your “now”
and watch the Universe join your efforts to succeed!
Remember, the Law of Attraction sends you situations that have the same energy of the vibration you are putting out… so when you are intending to focus on things that are in your now, the Universe will bring you additional experiences that will invite you to enjoy these moments.
