Afraid they'll judge your finished work?
When you get close to completing a personal or professional project, you may picture one person who is critical or judgmental. You can already imagine what they will say, how they will scrutinize the work, and how their criticism will feel in your body.
With EFT Tapping, begin with that one person and the distress you feel when you imagine finishing. Measure the intensity from zero to 10. You may notice fear, stress, hesitation, or the urge to keep the project unfinished so you do not have to face their response.
No wonder you procrastinate or avoid completing it. The behavior is being fueled by a feeling and a belief, and that is where the tapping can help.
As the emotional charge softens, notice the belief underneath it: "Their judgment determines whether my work is a success or failure. Their judgment determines my value."
What if their judgment is just their judgment? You may receive feedback, and some of it may even be useful, but their response does not have to become the last word about your work or who you are.
Your next yes is to imagine completing the project and feeling satisfied with it yourself. Or complete one small piece and notice what works. Appreciate what you put into it, how hard you worked, and what completing even one part says about your willingness to keep moving.
The rewire is from "Their judgment determines my success, failure, and worth" to "Their response may matter, but it does not determine my value or get the final word about my work."
Tap with me and notice what becomes possible when one person's anticipated reaction no longer has the power to keep your work unfinished.
